About Pan Am Place

Pan Am Place is a transitional housing facility dedicated to providing support and care for at-risk men in their journey towards stability and self-sufficiency. We are currently seeking a part-time Supervisor to join our team. This role plays a vital part in shaping the lives of our residents and ensuring the smooth operation of our facility.

Resident Specific Duties

  • Collaborate with Pan Am management to develop and implement policies, practices, and procedures that promote residents’ appropriate integration into the facility and the maintenance of high standards of conduct throughout their stay.
  • Foster trust, mentorship, and respect by building strong relationships with residents.
  • Identify and understand resident-specific needs, such as issues related to abuse, addiction, learning capabilities, general health, and mental illness.
  • Facilitate access to external support and resources to help residents address specific issues.
  • Conduct initial intake assessments and subsequent assessments that contribute to the development of a “transition out” plan.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of personalized “transition out” plans for each resident following the initial intake assessment.

Facility-Specific Duties

  • Collaborate with Pan Am management to recruit and manage volunteer staff.
  • Develop a structured reporting system to ensure that residents’ needs are met and that programming is delivered as planned. Volunteer staff categories may include kitchen management, employment and skills training, education advisors, youth supervisors, and mentors.
  • Manage the operational aspects of the facility, including ordering food and other consumable supplies, overseeing kitchen processes, and supervising cleaning and laundry operations.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and servicing of the mechanical and physical components of the facility.
  • Organize special training sessions for job skills development, kitchen and food preparation workshops, and other specialized needs.

Credentials/Experience

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, overseeing youth-at-risk programming and housing.
  • A relevant educational background, such as a designation, degree, or post-secondary education in fields like social work, counseling, youth justice, education, or a related recognized discipline.
  • Proven expertise in supervising, directing, and managing both staff and volunteers while providing guidance to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Prior experience in managing a housing facility with multiple residents, each having diverse and unique needs.
  • A sound understanding of budgets, financial management, cash flow, and the intricacies of non-profit/charity business management.

If you meet these qualifications, we encourage you to apply for the Supervisor position at Pan Am Place and help us make a lasting impact on the lives of at-risk individuals.
